What is the role?

We have a non-sales based entry role where your primary focus is to assist a mortgage adviser in obtaining clients documents, packaging a loan application together, and liaising with the banks and clients on behalf of the mortgage adviser.

Who is this role for?

This role will suit someone who is looking to start out a career in the mortgage industry, we will assist you in obtaining your New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5), where you will be personally mentored, shaped and guided by a mortgage adviser, and progress to become a mortgage adviser within three years.

As you will be very hands-on you will quickly pick up the knowledge required to complete the certificate, however, we will also offer monthly study sessions to ensure you are on track.

Whilst no lending experience is necessary a financial or accounting background is required, you must be a highly motivated individual with a great work ethic, who is looking to set up a career in the finance industry.

  • Excellent computer skills and easily adapt to new technology

What a loan writer’s role entails:

  • Assisting mortgage advisers with the loan application process
  • Communicating daily with clients via email and phone
  • Updating client’s statement of position over the phone and in-person
  • Managing clients documents portals
  • Completing clients servicing calculations
  • Preparing and packaging loan applications to lenders
  • Overseeing the integrity of compliance processes
  • Liaising with clients, lenders, solicitors, and valuers
  • Management of CRM system and ongoing customer maintenance
 

To be successful, you will need to have:

  • The willingness to achieve customer service excellence
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • High-level attention to detail with strong initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills, and a pro-active approach to building a great rapport with clients
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • And most of all a great attitude and relationship approach

From year one you’ll start out on a basic salary package, whilst you get some training, learn the ropes and complete your New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5).
